Arizona Coyotes winger Max Domi has launched a campaign on GoFundMe in support of type 1 diabetes research. Domi dubbed the campaign “#FundRazor” and shaved his beard on an Instagram livestream this past Wednesday, asking fans to donate to the cause. A recap of the livestream can be found on maxdomi.com.
Domi, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 12, has continued to share his story and how he manages the disease as a professional athlete, as well as working with and inspiring youth who are also affected.
The original goal set by Domi was $25,000, which was surpassed the first day. The current goal is now $100,000 and as of Friday evening, $60,829 has been raised. All the proceeds go towards JDRF Revolution Ride to Defeat Diabetes. Domi has also agreed to match every dollar contribution up to $10,000.
